Olympic Flame in Durham
The Olympic Torch is making its way around the UK and this afternoon it came through Durham. We stood with some friends (in the rain, of course) waiting for the person to run down the street with the torch. But on this section of the relay stretch a motorbike with a sidecar came zipping down the road. We were so surprised to see the flame in a car and not with someone running that we almost missed it! Luckily, we got to see it pass (albeit quickly) and we got to spread a little American cheer, as our friend Jon Parker displayed his flag proudly. Seeing the Olympic Flame go by gets us ready for our upcoming trip to London for the Olympic games. We got tickets for Tennis and Beach Volleyball and will be headed to the south (with everyone else) come early August. Be sure to look for us in the crowd!!
